Restoration of Civil Rights
Information for former Parolees and Probationers.
In general, the right to vote and serve as a juror in a civil action is immediately restored upon receiving an honorable discharge from either Parole or Probation, until January 1, 2019. For other rights restorations, a certain amount of time must pass before the right is restored, with exceptions.
On January 1, 2019, any discharge will immediately restore the right to serve as a juror in a civil action, and the right to vote with exceptions.
Parolees
Parolees have certain civil rights restored when specific conditions are met. Nevada Revised Statute (NRS) 213 §.155 describes what rights are immediately restored, and the conditions which must be met to have other rights restored, as well as exceptions and rights not restored by receiving an discharge. A form has been provided below which indicates the restoration of rights, and changes effective January 1, 2019 (NOTE: this is for INFORMATION ONLY.) Probationers
Probationers have certain civil rights restored when specific conditions are met.
